STL920, CGJ 56, was a Standard vehicle of type STL5 seen here at what could well be Romford whilst working on route 247A to Harold Hill Estate in 1953.

STL 441 has been around a bit. Entered service in 1934 and converted to diesel in 1939 which made it a 16STL18. Withdrawn in 1953 and moved to a Dutch museum but was repatriated in 1975 where a good home was finally found for it at Cobham.

One of my own Brownie 127 shots and sadly not one of the best. Post-war Weymann-bodied STL2699, HGC 232, parked out of the way at Hertford probably at the time of her withdrawal from London service in 1955..

Leaning back STL469, AYV 651, on display at horse Guards Parade in July 1956 in conjunction with the LGOC Centenary Exhibition. The bus is still with us as part of the LT Museum reserve collection.

STL1866, DLU 237, was one of the class specifically designed for use through the Blackwall Tunnel hence the dome shaped roof. Here we see STL1866's last rites in use a s a driver training vehicle snapped by yours truly at Uxbridge.

Staines West station plays host to green liveried STL 2292 which had a Chiswick built lowbridge utility body and is seen here on route 461 setting out for Walton.

March 1952 and we see lowbridge STL2220 on route 230 bound for Rayners Lane. Brian Bell has kindly informed me that the location is, indeed, Rayners Lane, on the south side of the railway at the start of Alexandra Avenue.

I was thrilled to come across this negative of the unique STL2477, ELP 154, even though the location isn't yet known to me. STL2477 was known as either the Meccano Set or the Sainsbury and spent its short working life with this one-off body based at ON (Alperton) garage. It's depicted here on one of it's regular turns, the 79A to Northolt Airport.
