London Transport double-decker bus
We move back to the east side of London to view this shot of SRT49, FJJ 751, working route 103 to Rainham the home of that infamous graveyard for all those vintage London buses seen elsewhere in this collection.

London Transport double-decker bus
A familiar sight on route 24 to Pimlico when this shot was taken in 1953 was the SRT class. Here we see SRT89, FXT 51, which was built in 1949 using the chassis from STL2603 allied to an RT9 body but there was only a year or so left on the chassis's calendar as she scoots down Whitehall.

London Transport double-decker bus
Here we see SRT150, EGO 407, which was built in 1950 using the chassis from STL2361 allied to an RT9 body and was rebuilt in 1954 to become RT4550. The scene here is probably a very busy Saturday afternoon in Romford with the featured bus on route 66A to Newbury Park Stn. A roofbox STL lurks behind!
