Epsom races duty in June 1949 brought a herd of redundant LT buses to the Downs which included LT727, GT 5160, of 1931 vintage. The solution was to press into service an antiquated fleet of buses inckuding some that had been withdrawn from service. This example, LT727, displays the dreaded kiss of death on the front mudguard as it crosses Epsom Downs.
