I don't often 'bleat' but we're privileged to see any results from this 35mm film which is almost bicycle tyre thick, scratched to ribbons and poorly exposed in what was evidently low light. This shot features what appears to be a partially demolished 10STL6 which was one of the series of green front-entrance STL's. Perhaps the fact that it's such an enigmatic image emphasises that it's also a sad one." />

This shot was taken shortly before their departure and a later upload will depict a frontal shot of the three of them lined up. RTL1307 was fitted out as an exhibition on the upper deck and as an office on the ground floor so to speak." />

This is as fine a portrait as I've ever seen of a vintage London half-cab bus and it's made me realise just how few shots in my acquired collections depict the near sides of the vehicles.
The featured bus is an oddity in the form of STL2107, DLU 106, which was originally a roofbox bodied vehicle but was rebuilt in 1943 with a Chiswick low-bridge body. There were quite a few other STL's that acquired the same feature.
Les Darbyshire has kindly pointed out that the location is about as obvious as it could possibly be as the street furniture in the left background indicates that this is Imperial Drive in Harrow. He further states that STL2107 is on route 230, Rayners Lane to Northwick Park this being Harrow Weald garage's only lowbridge route." />

Although defined as a General STL this example, STL188 (AGX 531) was actually delivered new to the LPTB in 1933 and survived until February 1950." />

A roofbox STL and an RTL complete the picture taken early in 1950, probably on the same day as that visit to Rainham, but the location isn't recognised here although I'd hazard a guesss at Forest Gate." />
