Devon General bus
AEC OD 7505 taken at Exeter on 1953 with extensive background data supplied by 'Rich':
this AEC Regent with Short Bros 52 seat body was one of 24 purchased by Devon General in 1933, entering service the following year. This example (DR218) was one of 5 converted to open-top configuration in 1955 by Longwell Green. In this guise it outlived its closed top brethren by 4 years being replaced in 1961 by the famous 'Sea-dog' Atlanteans. Thankfully examples of both configurations survive today and can be seen here and here. THOSE PAGES OPEN IN NEW WINDOWS.Previous | NextEnterprise - Isle of Wight - bus
Photographed at Sandown in 1950, Enterprise bus AVW 453 was a Dennis Lancet with Eastern Counties B35R body and at some stage it gained a Gardner 5LW engine.
