Bus, Tram & Trolleybus Archive
LT search selection Welcome to my PSV arcihve gallery Sales from this site
LT bus types are commonly only 1 or 2 letters which is a problem with the Fotopic site search as 3 letters is the minimum search argument requirement. I've built an internal index which should overcome this problem so click on a type below and see what comes up: Thank you for viewing my gallery of archive images and I hope that you derive as much enjoyment from it as the thousands of viewers thus far.

All images are created from original film material from a steadily growing archive of negatives dating back about 100 years and colour slides from the late 50’s onwards.

At the time of writing this the scanning accent is on trams, trolleybuses and half-cab buses prior to circa 1956 whilst future work will include European & Scandinavian tram systems for the period 1948 – 1957 as well as their railway and metro activities.

If you have a wish list then please feel free to contact me via the options described in the text in the panel to the right of this one.

THX 616M was new to National Travel South East at Catford. It was an AEC Reliance with Duple Dominant bodywork. In 1979 it was transferred to London Country operating from Northfleet depot as its D1, later becoming D13. Withdrawn in 1983, it is depicted here outside Victoria Coach Station in Central London.
    My grateful thanks go to
Alan O. Watkin for the effort he has bestowed on the creation of a quality caption for this image.

Cut down AEC Regal HKL 836, fleet no. 436 is ex-Maidstone and District, and fitted with a Beadle body. Three opentoppers were created (OT 1 - 3) and all three survive today. I haven't seen one in Hastings and District colours before however!

AVL 745X, fleet no. 1456, seen here entering Victoria Coach Station was among the very last Leyland Leopards to be built (PSU3G.4R), and also had one of the last of the notorious B51 bodies that allegedly destroyed the reputation of Eastern Coachworks.

WJY 760 is a 1962 Leyland Atlantean with fleet no. 460. The clue to its usage on this particular day is probably in the sticky labels. It looks as though it is on the Epsom Derby run when dozens of opentoppers are/were hired as mobile grandstands for passengers travelling to and from the races.

Alan O. Watkin for the effort he has bestowed on the creation of a quality caption for this image.
